anyone else notise that there is no record of attorney Charles Gunn of Wolfram and Hart before he worked there? lots of stuff on paper, but if you ask around none of it can be confirmed. a LA cop told me he used to run a street gang, how the hell did he get to be a lawyer?

do not mention this post on alt.conspiracy.wolframandhart, W&H trace all posts there. hope they don't have this thing spotted yet.

Anyone got photos of the gang leader Gunn?

'cos here's one theory (was posted to alt.conspiracy.wolframandhart a few weeks back but seems to not have reached most servers, I wonder why?)

We all know that W&H are well connected to the mob. So what is (a) Charles Gunn met a nasty end when his gang got involved in something mob related, no investigation and no death certificate 'cos no body and no witnesses and then (b) a W&H attourney needs to disappear 'cos he's done something naughty in the line of business. Maybe he looks a bit like Charles Gunn, maybe a bit of plastic surgery as applied. So adopt the identity and keep the vaulable employee working.

Looking through W&H court activity they seem to have a high turnover rate of attourneys. A lot of people who work for them for a bit and then never appear before a court again. They can't all be falling down elevater shafts, I reckon there's more than one false identity being used. Anyone else want to see if they can find any more names that don't match up?

I haven't been following a.c.wolframandhart very closely, since my main interest is the Jonathan thing, but wasn't there some weird mixup with one of their lawyers, Lilah something, turning up in court a couple of weeks after she'd been declared dead?

Morgan?
I've heard stories about her. Nasty piece of work by all accounts. Wouldn't surprise me if someone wanted her out of the way. Maybe the court appearance was an imposter to through the killers off balance whilst W&H's mob friends tracked them down?

Hmm, let me see what else I can dig up. Hey! My access to the court servers has been blocked. %#$*! I'm going to try switching IPs.

To add to the weirdness, I'm not sure if he is even a lawyer. Like you said, there's a lot of paper work about him. But I don't think he ever went to law school. I can't find confirmable records of him ever attending.

Best to assume that anything you say here will come to their attention sooner or later. So much disinformation gets posted to alt.conspiracy.sunnydale that I'm pretty sure that there's someone working on it full time, and monitoring our web sites, discussion groups, communities, etc.

The weirdness goes beyond his lack of history and qualifications. Have you looked at Mr. Gunn's win/loss record?

For a potentially phony lawyer, he was apparently extremely talented ...before he dropped out of sight.

There was a Charles Gunn listed as being a member of Angel Investigations. Also members of AI were Wesley Wyndham-Price and Winifred "Fred" Burkle.

All three names show up as members of the new Board of Directors of Wolfram & Hart's LA branch, less than a month after the LA Darkness and the collapse of Sunnydale.

So what do we have? A hotshot lawyer who comes out of nowhere, and who possibly used to be a street gangsta -- so where did his legal knowledge come from? AND, we have a graduate physics student who disappears for a couple of years, and comes back qualified to do the kind of work you'd need several Ph.D.'s to do.

And it's all at least peripherally connected to the place where Jonathan Levinson lived.

If false memories can be implanted in people, maybe skills and real knowledge can be as well.

Another member of Angel Investigations was Cordelia Chase -- of Sunnydale! -- who did not join Wolfram & Hart, because she fell into a coma (cause unknown, dun da DUN dun) some time between the end of the LA Darkness and the Sunnydale Collapse. Maybe the process doesn't always work right.

Both interesting, but perhaps not as suspicious as you make out.

On the Charles Gunn front, does anybody know offhand if California requires you to have a degree from an accredited law school in order to take the bar, or if autodidacts are allowed to sit for it? If the latter, plenty of people have learned quite a lot of law outside of formal channels and become practicing lawyers, including former Presidents and a number of ex-felons. Of course, there would be a record of Gunn passing the bar if this hypothesis is true.

On the Winifred Burkle front, you don't actually need Ph.D.s behind your name in order to do any level of science, especially when it's theoretical in bent. In fact, many mathematicians and theoretical physicists have done their most seminal or revolutionary work while still students and before earning their degrees, while some have *never* had degrees.

A doctorate is a credential saying that you have done some worthwhile original work in your field, not a prerequisite to doing that work. True, it's harder to get published, and definitely almost impossible to get actual research funding, without such a credential, but still not impossible. The only unlikelihood in Burkle getting the journal article published and being invited to speak about it is the fact that the journal editor ever even looked at her submission; but in this case she may well have been helped by the fact of her disappearance, which would make her name stand out to whoever was looking through the 'slush pile'.

So he got his shit from a diploma mill. Big deal. Lotsa colleges are offering distance education courses nowadays.

Shame on you. A gangbanger decides to clean himself up and get a real job instead of preying on the locals and picking up welfare checks and what thanks does he get from the peanut gallery?

Nothing.

Let's face it. Gangbangers give the NCAA and NAACP poster boys and airtime on the 6 o clock news. They scream discrimination and we, the taxpayers cough up. PC be damned.
